About Us

Stonegrove Guitar opened in August of 2002 in a 1200 sq. ft. space at the west end of LaGrange, IL.  We're tucked between Now Serving Café and the Chinese Moy Goy Restaurant.

Stonegrove originally opened with roughly twenty-five guitars and about ten amplifiers. The first year proved to be a slow one, adding students one-by-one as the shop’s reputation grew.  Word of mouth spread and people were buzzing about the quality guitar repair and guitar lessons in LaGrange for the first time since Sound Post closed in 2000.  By the end of Spring 2003, the store had close to forty students and expanded enough to be open six days a week and offer three lessons concurrently.

During the 2003-2004 school year, the shop continued to grow and reach more students – ultimately leading to the opportunity to expand the retail space, thus allowing for more lesson studios. Since 2004, we have averaged over two hundred students in lessons for guitar, bass, and drums each week.

We have changed the brands that we have over the years – but one thing stays the same: quality.

We have carefully chosen these brands to appeal to as many of our customers as possible while still ensuring that their important questions are answered:

•    Is the product going to deliver what it promises to the customer?
•    Will the quality be worth the cost involved?
•    Will it be useful to help a student to learn their instrument?
•    Will it make the customer sound better?
•    Will the company back up their product if the product fails? (and is there is a local authorized warranty technician in case there is repair needed?)

Stovegrove Guitar prides itself on a high degree of excellence and your satisfaction.
